I have written about this in the past: the drought of young ladies in Bollywood, and how a generational change has led to a big vacuum for now. How Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, Kareena Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and now Katrina Kaif have all transitioned to matrimony and are in different stages of raising their families. Some of them do have active projects in the pipeline but for most of them their private and personal lives seem to be a higher focus than their professional plans. And that is understandable.
The likes of Aishwarys Rai are around too. So are Madhuri Dixit, Sushmita Sen, Raveena Tandon, Rani Mukerji, Kajol, even Juhi Chawla – all of whom are doing OTT or occasional film roles, hence still visible. But for brands most of them are passé, atleast for younger, glamorous beauty products. So we won’t discuss them here.
